Robert Thornburg filed on Friday, October 2, 2015 a copyright infringement action in the Fort Pierce Division of the Southern District of Florida along with Mrachek Law Shareholder Gregory S. Weiss on behalf of internationally recognized marine photographer Tony Ludovico and his company Tony Ludovico LLC. The suit alleges, amongst other things, that California headquartered water sports apparel maker Pelagic Inc. (“Pelagic”) used Ludovico’s well recognized and acclaimed Portrait of a Bull artwork as the basis for Pelagic Inc.’s commercially successful Dorado Apparel line. Mr. Ludovico’s Portrait of a Bull is protected by United States Copyright Registration VA 1-945-550. The case is currently before Honorable Judge Donald Middlebrooks.
